JOE Biden’s £1.2million eight tonne armour-plated supercar – nicknamed The Beast – is the world’s most secure vehicle.

Equipped with state of the art security systems it can withstand devastating bomb attacks and even point-blank gun shots.

The armour-plated doors are 8in thick – the same as a Boeing 737 – and sealed to withstand biological and chemical attacks.

The windows are made from five layers of polycarbonate glass.

Night vision cameras are contained within the grill whilst the tyres are reinforced with kevlar and can run on its steel rims.

The huge motor, also known as Cadillac One, is even longer than two large SUVs and is painted black to disguise its elaborate array of high-tech security features.

TOUCH DOWN

US President Joe Biden arrives in London with wife Jill for Queen's funeral

And whilst scores of world leaders are bussed to Westminster Abbey for the funeral service tomorrow US President Biden will be dropped off in The Beast.

The extraordinary vehicle is in an entirely different category than the Range Rover Sentinels or Jaguar XJs used by British Prime Ministers.

Instead Mr Biden’s limousine is a bespoke model that was delivered in 2018 and is built on a General Motors TopKick chassis that is normally used for commercial vehicles like small trucks.

The armour is said to be composed of aluminium, ceramic and steel.

The front windscreen can withstand armour piercing bullets or a .44 magnum and the bodywork is military grade and five inches thick.

The reinforced undercarriage with withstand going over a roadside bomb and the fuel tank is explosive resistant.

There are seven seats: two in the front for Secret Service agents and four in the back.

Only the driver’s side window can open and in the boot are cases of the President’s blood for an emergency transfusion.

Among the other features are shotguns on board in case an attack breaks out and an oxygen system in the trunk in case of a chemical attack.

A number of guns are hidden in the front grille of the vehicle which can be used to fire on an attacker.

The Beast has night vision cameras on board and appears to run on diesel due to the oversized rectangular fuel filler door.

Among the other reported features – the Secret Service refuses to comment on specifics – are James Bond-esque technology like smoke screens and oil slicks to shake off anyone in pursuit.

The Beast is part of a fleet of 12 which cost around £14million and the rest are used for foreign dignitaries.

The vehicle, along with the rest of Mr Biden’s motorcade, will be brought to the UK in a C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft.

Also in the motorcade is the President’s own communications antenna which is a mobile phone tower strapped to the top of a car in his motorcade.

In one vehicle a military aid carries the ‘Nuclear Football’, which is the briefcase which stores instructions in case of a military attack.

Another vehicle is the Presidential ambulance in case of emergencies.

One of the few times The Beast has broken down was in 2013 when a driver put the wrong fuel into it while on a trip to Israel.

The blunder left organisers scrambling to find a vehicle that could take former President Barack Obama around Tel Aviv.

He was not on board at the time.

And in 2011, during a trip to Ireland, it got stuck on a speed bump outside the US Embassy in Dublin.
