MEGHAN Markle may be set to re-launch her blog more than five and half years after shutting it down to become a member of the Royal Family.
The Duchess of Sussex’ bid to trademark ‘The Tig’, the name of the lifestyle blog she ran before marrying Prince Harry, is reportedly ‘under examination’ by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USTPO).
Meghan launched her bid to trademark the name of her former blog last year
She launched the trademark claim last year but, six months ago, it was rejected as USTPO said the description of the website on the application was “too broad” and that the paperwork was unsigned.
This has reportedly been corrected with the help of lawyer Danielle Weiss.
In the revised application, there are five areas in which the Duchess‘ has asked for a trademark, according to the Daily Mail.
If successful, the name would reportedly belong to her in the areas of travel, interior design (including ‘environmentally conscious living’), food preparation (including cooking and recipes), health and ‘wellness’, and personal relationships (including fashion and personal lifestyle).
BABY BACKLASH

She ran the blog, which is named after her favourite wine Tignanello, between 2014 and 2017, before shutting it down as she prepared to marry Prince Harry.
She previously described it as a “passion project” which “evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity”.
It comes as the Sussexes gear up for a Netflix series and the release of Prince Harry’s memoir, titled ‘Spare’.
The book will be released in January after it was delayed earlier this year in the wake of the Queen’s death.
A source said: “The book has been back and forth between Harry and JR Moehringer and the publishers a few times.
“They wanted more than was in the first draft, and then Harry wanted to refine things after the Queen passed away.
“But there has been extra toing and froing that people don’t know about. This is because the publishers wanted more areas covered and more detail on some things that were already included.
“There is a real concern that that means Harry has had to sex up the book and include revelations that even he might not even be that comfortable with.”
There are fears he will expand on the claim he and Meghan made to Oprah Winfrey that a family member questioned what their son Archie’s skin colour would turn out to be, according to sources.
The way the book has been promoted has also apparently raised worries about what he has to say about mum Diana’s treatment.
