RUMOURS that there was a feud between Prince Harry and Prince William began in 2018, when Harry hinted in an interview that he and his brother had grown apart.
But what is the brothers relationship like now? Here is what we know:

What did Prince Harry say?
In his ITV documentary, Harry publicly admitted he and his brother Prince William have grown apart — saying: “We’re certainly on different paths.”
He hinted at the strained relationship in his ITV documentary, “Harry and Meghan, An African Journey”, on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
The Prince added: “As brothers, you have good days, you have bad days.”
Harry said the pressure on the royals means “inevitably stuff happens”.
He added: “But look, we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers — and we’re certainly on different paths at the moment.
“But I’ll certainly always be there for him as I know he’ll always be there for me.
“We don’t see each other as much as we used to because we’re so busy.
“But I love him dearly and the majority of the stuff is created out of nothing. But as brothers, you have good days, you have bad days.”
He later hit back at claims he is “fragile” by insisting he has never felt stronger.
He also accused the royal institution of failing to support him and his wife.
Sources close to the Duke of Sussex told The Celeb Report the reaction to ITV’s Harry and Meghan documentary was hysterical and panicked.
They say the royal institution fears it looks out of touch and to blame for the lack of backing.
A source close to Harry responded by telling The Celeb Report: “Harry is back at Frogmore Cottage and has never been stronger.
“This is an institution full of people panicked they may potentially look out of touch and ultimately to blame for a lack of support.”
Another royal insider said: “There is an obvious rift between the brothers and it’s been getting worse over the past few months.”
The royal brothers were reunited on account of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II’s, death in September 2022.
Allegedly, Prince William reached out to his brother at the time and the pair were seen viewing floral tributes together, accompanied by their wives.
However, Harry is set to release his memoir on January 10 2023 and experts say the Royal Family are on “tenterhooks” awaiting it.
The news of Harry’s “explosive” memoir is said to have strained the royal brothers relationship even further.
Prince William has barely said a word to his brother since the news of Harry’s memoir broke.
Harry’s book promises “unflinching honesty” and members of the Royal Family will find out its details at the same time as the public.
What have palace insiders said?
Royal insiders have revealed “fragile” Prince Harry is “not in great shape” and his relationship with Prince William is “fractious”.
A senior Kensington Palace source said William is genuinely worried for Harry and Meghan after their emotional TV interview and hopes they “are all right”.
They added it was feared the couple’s admission they were struggling to cope with being in the spotlight showed they are “in a fragile place.”
A source close to the brothers said Harry’s recent behaviour, including attacks on the media and weeping in public as he spoke of son Archie’s birth, showed all was not well.
The source added: “Harry is not in great shape. I’d say he’s not well, declaring war on everyone, crying in public.
“These are not the actions of a well-balanced man. He and William are badly split over his mother’s legacy.
“Harry’s view is, ‘The press killed my mum and now they are going to kill my wife’.
“William has a more nuanced view. He hated the topless pictures of Kate but accepts you have to live with the press. He knows Diana allowed the press too close and co-operated with them.”
The source added that they suspected Harry and Meghan may move abroad sometime soon, describing the Sussex’s as “really not happy at the moment”.
His father, King Charles, was also said to be raging at the growing row.
Royal sources have told The Celeb Report that Charles is worried about his youngest son Harry in the same way he used to fear for his ex-wife Princess Diana.
He is adamant he has supported Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and was let down when his daughter-in-law, 41, cancelled a meeting with him at the last minute.
A royal source revealed: “The Prince of Wales is very busy at the moment touring Japan, including a visit with the Welsh rugby team. But the point is that this whole kerfuffle has completely undermined the work he is doing, just as it undermined the work Prince William and Kate were doing in Pakistan.
“To do it to your brother is one thing. To do it to your father and paymaster is a completely different matter altogether.”
Have there been rift rumours in the past?
In 2018, the Sun told how “simmering tension” began when William questioned the speed of Harry and Meghan’s engagement.
The first hints of friction reportedly came after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace.
Once she’d returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a brother to brother chat.
He knew Harry was already head-over-heels for her but it has been claimed he advised him to take it slowly.
The younger prince reportedly didn’t take too kindly to the advice, with one royal source saying he “went mental”.
Then in June 2019 Harry and Meghan officially split off from the charity they shared with William and Kate.
The Royal Foundation will be divided between the Sussexes and Cambridges as the couples focus on their own separate charitable endeavours.
Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009 before Kate joined two years later shortly after their engagement was announced.
The trio would often appear together at events and the Foundation had huge successes with projects like the Invictus Games for injured veterans and the mental health Heads Together campaign.
The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into its structure – but added both couples will continue to work together in the future.
Harry and Meg were living in close proximity to Kate and Wills within the Kensington Palace estate, but they switched to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before baby Archie was born.
The move further increased rumours of a fall out.
