Kate revealed on Good Morning Britain that the Duchess of Cambridge had given her a note

Kate told Good Morning Britain co-host Richard Bacon about the time she met with the Duchess of Cambridge, and her husband Prince William after being invited to the Duchess’ special carol service.

The TV presenter read the poem Love Came Down at Christmas by Christina Rossetti in front of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and other royals.

Richard asked her: “You mentioned that after you met William and Kate she sent you a note.

“Can I ask a technical question? If a senior royal sends you a note, what form does it come? Does it come on horseback? Does it have a wax seal?” he said.

Kate explained: “So I was sitting at home with a cup of tea and suddenly there was a knock at the door and there was a fanfare and there were people with trumpets.

“And then, a bit like in Cinderella, where you have a velvet pillow, there was a note with a seal and I opened it up and it was one of the most extraordinary moments of my life.

“It was really sweet, so lovely. She thanked everybody involved ‘cos it means so much to her.”

However, Kate quickly realised that she may have revealed too much after sharing details on the note.

“I wonder if that was a secret that I got a note?” she said, to which Richard responded: “Not anymore!”

A worried Kate shouted: “Crikey! I’ll be in the Tower! Stop!”

It comes after Kate’s husband Derek was rushed to hospital in March last year after contracting Covid-19.

He was critically ill and spent over a year in hospital, before finally returning home to be cared for by Kate and their children in April.
