KATE Middleton is “not the type to get het up” and wants to bring the Royal Family together amid the painful Meghan and Harry dramas, a source has claimed.
Family-oriented Duchess of Cambridge, 39, hopes to “alleviate her husband’s stress and sadness”, it’s been revealed.

But the Duchess of Cambridge may be off the guest list when a statue of Princess Diana is unveiled this week – meaning William and Harry could be meeting without the ‘peacemaker’.
The brothers will stand shoulder-to-shoulder for the service on Thursday after Harry and wife Meghan Markle unleashed a string of explosive claims against the Royal Family – including the duchess had faced racism and was not supported when she faced mental health struggles.
Meghan had claimed that Kate made her cry at a bridesmaid fitting before her big wedding.
But The Telegraph reported Kate Middleton was focusing on keeping the family together.
The source claimed: “The Duchess hasn’t said much about Oprah at all.
“I think the bridesmaids’ dress comments were the least of anyone’s worries. And she’s not really the type to get het up about these sorts of things.
“She’s just trying to help to bring the family back together and alleviate her husband’s stress and sadness.”
It comes as:
- The Queen was spotted driving towards Frogmore Cottage after her grandson touched down at Heathrow
- A royal expert claims Meghan and Harry ‘want money for doing very little in return’
- Harry and William have been forced to slash the guest list for the unveiling of a new statue to commemorate their mother
- The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been slammed by Dumbarton locals – after rejecting it for Archie over the word ‘dumb’
- And the couple say they weren’t being misleading when they told Oprah they’d been ‘cut off’ by the Royal Family after Megxit
Royal expert Camilla Tominey also claimed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had not watched the Oprah interview “start to finish” – saying it was “telling”.
Retired major Harry, 36, agreed to the Oprah Winfrey chat within 24 hours of losing his military titles in February’s final Megxit deal.
The bitter duke told the world he was “cut off financially” by his dad, Prince Charles, when he and Meghan quit the UK to launch a new life in the US.
Tominey’s source was quoted saying that the overriding question was whether Prince William could put aside the pain and damage caused by Harry “to get back to the place he once was with his brother.
“It’s very difficult when the trust has basically gone.”
The unnamed source was referring to the Palace’s fury after details of the Sussexes’ private peace talks with Charles and William were leaked to a prime-time US TV show.
Gayle King, a pal of privacy-conscious Meghan, said the chats were “unproductive”.
Kate had, however, told friends she didn’t think it was too late to “pull them back in” to the royal fold, according to the Telegraph.
But this could prove difficult as the Duchess of Cambridge may remain home for the statue unveiling ceremony, after Palace officials said the princes will now only be joined by Diana’s close family.
Harry has already returned to the UK for the poignant event, which will take place in Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden on July 1 – the date of Diana’s 60th birthday.
It will be the first time William and Harry have met face-to-face since their reunion at Prince Philip’s funeral in April.
William has previously referred to his wife as a “peacemaker” – and she was seen stepping back to allow him and Harry to speak privately at their grandad’s funeral.
And while millions had hoped that initial chat signalled a reconciliation, a royal author has recently claimed the pair rowed the second they were out of sight of the press.
Robert Lacey – the author of explosive book Battle of Brothers, which looks into the feud between the pair – claims a pal told him: “There they were, at each other’s throats as fiercely as ever.
“The rage and anger between those two has grown so incredibly deep. Too many harsh and wounding things have been said.”
Now, it’s claimed Thursday’s event may serve to deepen the differences between the men – after plans by Kensington Palace to invite a range of UK media organisations were reportedly scuppered by Harry.
Yet in early June the Sun wrote about Kate‘s proud uncle, Gary Goldsmith, describing his niece as a “brilliant arbiter”.
She is renowned for being extremely close to her family and a staunch supporter of the Royal clan.
The Ibiza-based recruitment officer says he has been “astonished” by the scathing remarks that the Duke of Sussex has made about the royal family since relocating to the US.
Speaking to Closer, he said: “If Harry doesn’t get a grip and stop this self-indulgent episode, there will soon be no common ground or relationship to rebuild.
“But if anyone can bring peace to the royals, Kate can. Kate is a brilliant arbiter and peacemaker.
“Every bone in her body is about making friends and doing the best she can… she’s trying to mediate.”
