Highlighting the importance of the Early Childhood Centre, Kate said: “Our first five years lay important foundations for our future selves.

“This period is when we first learn to manage our emotions and impulses, to care and to empathise, and thus ultimately to establish healthy relationships with ourselves and others.

“It is a time when our experience of the world around us, and the way that moulds our development, can have a lifelong impact on our future mental and physical wellbeing.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a three-strand pearl bracelet that belonged to Diana at a recent G7 dinner

Kate’s appearance comes after she was seen paying tribute to Princess Diana – who would have turned 60 on 1 July – while attending a G7 dinner.

Eagle-eyed royal fans will have noticed she was wearing a stunning three-strand pearl bracelet, designed by Nigel Milne, that once belonged to the Princess of Wales.

Diana was seen wearing the bracelet on several occasions, while Kate was first spotted with it on at a 2017 reception in Berlin.

She also wore it on her wrist during the 2018 royal tour of Sweden.

It’s not the only item from Diana’s personal jewellery collection Kate now has, as the mum-of-three is also in possession of Princess Diana’s sapphire engagement ring.

In more Royal Family news, Princess Diana’s friend believes she would never have let Prince Harry do bombshell Oprah interview.
