Kate Middleton set to have ‘deliberately modest’ and ‘low key’ 40th birthday, expert claims

KATE Middleton has an exciting year ahead as she celebrates her 40th birthday in January.

Although her exact plans haven’t been revealed, royal author Duncan Larcombe said Kate’s birthday on January 9 is expected to be “low-key.”

Duncan told OK!: “Kate and William are not the sort to go away to celebrate on their own and leave the kids at home.

“I think the same will apply to Kate’s birthday as it does to Christmas – it will be low key and it will be focused entirely on the family.”

When Meghan Markle turned 40 in August, she released a glitzy comedy video with Hollywood actress Melissa McCarthy – and in it launched a new initiative called 40×40.

It saw the duchess ask A-listers including Adele and Stella McCartney, as well as members of the public, to donate their time to “help women reentering the workforce”.

Duncan said he doesn’t expect Kate to follow suit with a large campaign, and added: “I’d be very surprised if she does announce anything.

Kate, Prince William, 39, and their three kids, Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three, spent Christmas at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

The Queen cancelled her traditional Sandringham Christmas and New Year plans to stay at Windsor Castle, due to the pandemic.
