King Charles & Prince William stay silent amid Harry’s book barrage but are ‘deeply hurt’

PRINCE William and King Charles were “saddened” by Harry’s bombshell book but were keeping a dignified silence last night and are not expected to comment.

The King, 74, was seen wearing an open neck shirt behind the wheel of his car as he drove from Sandringham – where just weeks ago he held the biggest Royal Family Christmas bash for many years.

Sources close to the King and Prince last night say the family are “saddened” by the shock claims made by Harry in his book Spare revealed in The Celeb Report today.

It is believed that the Royal Family may never comment on the allegations even after the book is officially published around the world on Tuesday.

But senior royals are expected to be back at work next week with a series of planned engagements – although the details have not been released.

It comes after Harry, 38, blasted the Royal Family’s time-tested manta of ‘never complain, never explain’ dismissing it as “just a motto” in a trailer for interviews promoting his book.

Harry has given interviews to journalist pal Tom Bradby of ITV and Anderson Cooper for US channel CBS which will both air on Sunday.

The book Spare has been published just four months ahead of the Coronation at Westminster Abbey in May.

King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla will be crowned side-by-side at the ceremony.

Despite claims Harry and Meghan have been invited to the event The Celeb Report understands that a guest list has NOT been finalised and no formal invites have yet been dispatched.

Royal sources say the family never comment on books – even though Spare has been penned by a senior royal.
