MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry’s existence is “pointless in self-exile” a royal biographer has claimed.
Royal expert Hugo Vickers made the harsh comments following complaints from listeners that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s newly released Archewell podcast is “dull and preachy.”
Vickers appears to be in agreement with the listeners, claiming that it “would have been great” to hear Harry support the NHS during the COVID crisis.
Speaking to the Telegraph of the couple’s decision to “isolate” himself from his family by relocating to Santa Barbara, he said: “It’s a pointless existence in self-exile.”
Vickers went on to compare the Sussexes to Prince William and Kate Middleton who threw their support behind the NHS this summer.
He continued: “During the NHS clapping, I thought how, after the Cambridges clapped, it would have been great to have heard from him.”
Vickers comments come as fans complained that the couple’s new Archewell podcast is “dull and preachy.”
The holiday special episode featured a whole host of famous voices – including 19-month-old baby Archie’s as he giggled on air and wished fans a “happy New Year”.
Meghan, 39, and Harry, 36, signed a lucrative deal with Spotify to host and produce podcasts for Archewell Audio.
The money-spinner is rumoured to be worth a cool £30 million.
For this episode, the couple enlisted the help of A-lister friends including Elton John and James Corden as they discussed what had kept them motivated during 2020.
But the audio has divided opinion with some branding the pod “dull and preachy,” but others insisting it was “heartwarming”.
One social user wrote: “Ok First of all… Master Archie’s perfect accent!
“Secondly… Prince Harry’s infectious laughter!
“That man is SO happy! Last but not least… Meghan’s voice was MADE for podcasts. So worth the wait!”
But another, more cynical tweeter said: “Someone please pass the sick bucket…”
And another, equally unimpressed social media user wrote: “2020 has been difficult.
“Not sure a podcast featuring the difficulties of the rich and famous is what we need from Harry and Meghan.”

It is not the first time the couple have embraced audio – with Prince Harry editing a Radio 4 episode in 2017.
Meghan also snagged her first post-Royal gig this year, providing the voiceover for a Disney Plus documentary about elephants.
