The long-awaited show is set to hit screens in one week’s time – with the trailer dropping just hours after Princess Kate and Prince William arrived in the US.
Netflix has today posted the trailer to Twitter captioned: “Harry & Meghan. A Netflix Global Event. Coming soon, only on Netflix.”
While there had been speculation around the name of the series, the trailer revealed it is called Harry and Meghan.
And one royal expert believes that the timing of the Sussex’s release was designed to “take everything away” from Will and Kate’s trip abroad.
Royal author Angela Levin said: “I am and I’m not shocked. I think that the day seems chosen to ruin Kate and Williams trip – to take away everything from that.
“To pile it on there was no need to do it that day. It was done deliberately to spoil their visit.
“They say ‘when the stakes are so high’ but what are you talking about? where’s the proof?
“They are really keen on privacy until they decide they want to release their pics to make a point without proof.”
Angela continued: “The pics they’re showing now they would never show when they were newly married. I fear it’s a real wish to crash the monarchy.
“There’s a sense of veiled swiping. I don’t think it’s a veiled swipe – I think it’s a living swipe.
“A lot of people accept what they’re saying without any evidence what so ever. The seed was planted when they did the Oprah Winfrey interview and it’s now grown into a tree.”
While there had been speculation around the name of the series, the trailer revealed it is called Harry and Meghan.
The documentary is said to be six titles long.
The 59-second clip shows a series of photos, and videos, with snippets of Harry and Meghan talking.
At the start of the trailer, the pair are asked: “Why did you want to make this documentary?”
Harry says: “Nobody sees what’s happening behind closed doors.
“I had to do everything I could to protect my family.”
And, Meghan says: “When the stakes are this high doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?”
Unseen photos and videos of the couple dancing, playing guitar and taking selfies have also been shared in the trailer.
The show is said to give an insight into the pair’s “love story” and will be streamed from December 8.
Piers Morgan slammed the reveal of the Netflix docuseries social media.
He tweeted: “Imagine bleating about privacy then doing a kiss-and-tell reality series about your private lives?
“Then imagine preaching compassion as you trash your family again?
“Then imagine releasing 1st trailer deliberately to ruin your brother’s big trip to America? Repulsive hypocrites.”
