Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby ‘due in June’ with Duchess to ‘go on maternity leave in weeks’

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry’s little girl is due in June – and the Duchess will go on maternity leave in weeks, it’s reported.

The royal couple’s second child will arrive soon – and Meghan was unable to join her husband for Prince Philip’s funeral after she was advised not to travel.

Meghan Markle will reportedly give birth to a daughter in June

It’s reported that she’ll go on leave in a month to prepare for the baby’s arrival.

It comes as:

  • The Queen will be accompanied by senior royals at all future engagements after the death of her husband
  • Omod Scobie said William’s tribute to his grandfather wasn’t a dig at Harry
  • Meghan says she is ‘ready to forgive’ the Royal Family, a pal said
  • Philip’s school reports reveal he was ‘naughty – but never nasty’
  • The Queen’s support network after her husband’s death was revealed

The couple announced their happy news earlier this year with a black and white photo highlighting Meghan’s bump.

During their bombshell chat with Oprah, they revealed they’re having a girl.

In keeping with royal tradition, they didn’t share their due date.

However, it’s now believed the tot will arrive in June, the Telegraph reports.

Harry referenced his unborn daughter while paying tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh yesterday.

The prince, who said he will remember the Duke as the “master of the barbecue and legend of banter”, added: “Meghan, Archie, and I (as well as your future great-granddaughter) will always hold a special place for you in our hearts.”

Meghan and Harry’s baby girl will be the first royal to be born in the US.

Harry told Oprah: “To have any child, any one or any two, would have been amazing.

“But to have a boy and then a girl, I mean what more can you ask for? Now we’ve got our family, we got the four of us and our two dogs.”

Meghan and Harry welcomed their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in 2019.

And the couple told Oprah they’re expecting a girl

Meghan is understood to want to deliver her second baby at home.

She initially wanted to give birth to Archie at Frogmore Cottage while attended by an all-female midwife team.

But her dreams of a home birth were dashed as she was forced to go to London’s private Portland Hospital to deliver the tot, who weighed 7lb 3oz when he arrived on May 6 2019.

Now it’s understood she’s determined to give birth to her daughter without the need to go to hospital.

“Meghan’s plan was to have a home birth with Archie, but you know what they say about the best-laid plans,” a source said.

“In the end, her doctors advised her to go to hospital and all she was interested in was about delivering Archie safely.

“But she has a beautiful home in California.

“It’s a beautiful setting to give birth to her baby girl.”

And this time around, the couple don’t have to adhere to royal protocol as a result of Megxit.

They didn’t want to announce where or when Archie was born, but agreed to a photo call in the grounds of Windsor Castle after his birth.

But their decision to step back as senior royals and become private citizens means they may not announce the birth immediately.

There will also be no conventions on how such an announcement is made.
