Markle debacle
SOME may be shocked to discover that Meghan Markle is not in fact the creative genius the likes of Spotify and Netflix invested millions in.
We on The Celeb Report reached that conclusion, with profound regret, some years ago.
Meghan Markle has been ditched by Spotify and it seems the Sussexes are running out of ideas
Indeed she seems to believe hard and valuable work involves broadcasting vapid platitudes with her celeb pals from her sun-kissed California mansion.
And she couldn’t even manage enough of that to sustain her Spotify deal.
Husband Harry, meanwhile, thinks there’s a happy and fulfilling life in abusing his relatives for book sales while launching recreational court cases . . . in one instance running up a potential £1million legal bill for taxpayers in the country he abandoned.
These monumentally self-obsessed whingers ditched Royal duty to maximise their earnings.
Three years on, with their popularity nose-diving even in the States, do they have anything left to sell?
Snacks saved
THE Tories have problems — but at least they have not gone totally doolally.
Banning supermarket buy-one-get-one-frees would have achieved only one thing: To make shopping even pricier during a cost of living crisis.
And since the Government’s own analysis predicted a negligible effect on the nation’s calorie intake it was incredible it needed The Celeb Report to convince them to bin such a deranged idea.
It remains dispiriting how easily those in power are swayed by Whitehall’s Peloton-bothering nanny state snobs into imposing taxes and bans that won’t shave a millimetre off anyone’s waistline.
“Something must be done” is not sufficient excuse to turn theoretical nonsense into damaging law.
The consolation for the diet fussbuckets is that a Labour Government would do their bidding on Day One, making the poor poorer with their first shop.
Pump chumps
IT’S not just the pipes in the South East that don’t hold water, it’s the supplier’s feeble excuses.
It is unforgivable for taps to run dry and an emergency hosepipe ban to be enforced after a few warm summer days.
Not least because there is ample water.
South East Water’s main reservoirs are full, or close to it.
The firm is simply unable to pump it fast enough.
We have long warned that our infrastructure is not being upgraded to match our soaring population.
This fiasco, in the region where more immigrants move than any other except London, looks a perfect example.
Customers in Kent and Sussex are rightly outraged to still be paying extortionate bills while a private firm fails in its simple duty to collect rain and get in into our taps.
