MEGHAN Markle revealed daughter Lilibet is teething as she gushed over her “happy” life in California on a US talk show.
The Duchess of Sussex said she was looking for “anything to relieve” her six-month-old’s pain during the candid chat with Ellen DeGeneres.
The surprise appearance, which will be aired in full today, saw Meghan spill the beans on her acting days before meeting Prince Harry.
And in a rare glimpse into the couple’s family life, she told how their six-month-old has already hit some crucial milestones.
The duchess said she was looking for “anything to relieve” Lilibet’s teething pain, to which Ellen replied: “Tequila, anything.”
Meghan joked: “That’s Auntie Ellen for you” and the talk show host accepted: “That’s why I don’t have kids.”
Meghan went on to talk about living at her Montecito mansion, saying she and Prince Harry were “just happy” with life, People Magazine reports.
Their daughter Lilibet was born in the US in June, although it is not yet confirmed when or where her Christening will be.
Prince Charles sparked rumours the newborn could be baptised with holy water from the River Jordan this week after being gifted “five or six bottles” during his trip to the Middle East.
But a source simultaneously revealed the Sussexes will spend Christmas in the US, suggesting they haven’t planned a trip to the UK any time soon.
During the preview clip of her chat with Ellen, Meghan was a bundle of laughs as she recalled her former acting days, telling how she used to climb through the boot of her old car to get to the front – because you couldn’t access it from the driver’s door.
Meghan’s long-time makeup artist and friend Daniel Martin also shared some insight into her interview with Ellen, telling People that the talk show host “pulled out Meghan’s goofy, funny side”.
“We [Martin and Meghan’s hairstylist Jason Low] were backstage the entire time,” he said.
“It’s really fun and Ellen really pulled out Meghan’s goofy, funny side, which everyone will be able to finally see.”
Meghan told Ellen that the chat show appearance was her first in around a decade, coming almost a year after her bombshell Oprah interview.
The Sussexes had opened up to Oprah about their suffering as working royals, revealing Meghan had suicidal thoughts during her role.
Her most recent appearance comes after the Queen cancelled four public appearances in just one month – including this year’s Remembrance Sunday service.
And royal biographer Angela Levin yesterday said Meghan was “desperate for publicity” by carrying out the interview amid the monarch’s latest health scare.
Meanwhile Piers Morgan joked he’s “available” to interview Meghan despite their ongoing rift.
