Meghan Markle wants to star in superhero movie in a return to acting, royal expert claims

MEGHAN Markle may be toying with the idea of returning to acting three years after she retired from the job, a royal expert claims.

The Duchess of Sussex wants to return to the big screen and star in a superhero film, it has been suggested to royal biographer Angela Levin.

Before marrying into royalty, Meghan played paralegal Rachel Zane in Suits

Suggestions were made earlier this week that Meghan, 40, may go back on her decision to retire her acting career – and star in a blockbuster film.

Sources said in early 2020 that her agent was actively looking for a superhero role for the Duchess – but plans were seemingly halted by the Covid pandemic.

Despite giving up her on-screen roles when she married Prince Harry in 2018, mum-of-two Meghan has continued to work in the creative industry.

But a leading role in a blockbuster movie may be on the cards in the future, a source told author Angela Levin.

Speaking about what’s next for the Duchess in the post-pandemic world, Ms Levin told the Sun Online: “I heard that Meghan had gone back on saying that she’s not going back to doing acting.

“She wants to be the star of a superhero in a film, no idea what.”

Meghan worked for over 15 years in the acting industry before meeting the Prince – with her most notable role being Rachel Zane in Suits.

Last year, she narrated a Disney+ documentary ‘Elephants,’ in her first post-Megxit media project after her husband was filmed suggesting her for a job at the Lion King premiere.

And in June, she released her first children’s book, The Bench, which she penned as a “love story” about growing with Prince Harry in “good times or bad”.

Meghan and Harry also bagged multi-million dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify after stepping down as royals in 2020.

Earlier this month, the Sussexes’ close pal Omid Scobie hinted that plans to make a movie are in the pipeline for the couple – adding that it’s “only a matter of time before it comes to life.”

This comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were criticised for performing “pseudo-royal engagements” one year after ditching the Prince’s family for privacy.

Ms Levin added: “It’s nonsense.

“They wanted to leave the royal family because they didn’t want to be doing engagements there.

“And here they are, not so long after, doing pseudo-royal engagements.

“They want to build up a woke alternative royal family, and get this one gone.”

On Thursday, Meghan and Harry made their first public appearance since the birth of their daughter Lilibet earlier this year.

The royal couple arrived at New York’s One World Observatory 14 minutes late for their meeting with Mayor Bill De Blasio as they embarked on their US “adventure”.

Their tour of NYC comes a year after the pair ditched their royal lives in England for a quiet life in America.

But the couple happily posed for photos with the Democrat politicians yesterday – with some experts believing this means Meghan’s career path is moving in that direction.

Expert Richard Fitzwilliam told the Sun Online: “They have had a wonderful trip to New York, they get pictured with politicians – it is strongly hinting towards Meghan’s possible political career.

“She’s got the world in front of her, because she is only 40.

“Undoubtedly, we could be looking many years ahead. But if you enter politics, you have to be very good with your facts – and they were loose with their facts on Oprah.”
