Meghan Markle ‘was once tipped to play Rebekah Vardy in Hollywood film’

REBEKAH Vardy once tipped Meghan Markle to play her in a film during an interview with Piers Morgan.

The throwback interview took place all the way back in 2016 when Piers was co-hosting Good Morning Britain.

Rebekah Vardy tipped the Suits actress to play her in a film about footballer husband Jamie

Rebekah made the comments back when Piers Morgan was on GMB

And WAG Rebekah, 40, claimed that she wanted Prince Harry’s beau to portray her in a biopic about her footballer husband Jamie Vardy.

The film would have documented Jamie’s rise from non-league football obscurity to being an driving force in Leicester City’s famous title winning team.

The comment was made when Meghan was not such a household name, although she was still famous thanks to her starring role in Suits.

Meghan started dating Prince Harry the same year and would go on to abandon her acting career for a brief stint as a senior royal.

With the Wagatha Christie case having plenty of people speculating who could represent the WAGs on the big screen, it brought back strong memories of Rebekah’s interview.

At the time One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson was also linked to the main role, although the film never came to fruition.

It comes after Rebekah Vardy broke down for a third time today during the explosive trial.

The WAGs went head to head earlier in the week in spectacular fashion with Coleen accusing Rebekah of leaking stories to the press.

Rebekah has denied the accusations and is now attempting to sue Coleen for libel.

Under English defamation law, the burden of proof now will be on Coleen to prove that her post was “substantially true”.

Jamie Vardy’s wife was also accused of lying after denying she set up paparazzi to take pics of Wags during the 2018 World Cup.

Rebekah also claimed she was “distracted” by Gemma Collins “faceplanting” on Dancing on Ice when agent her Caroline Watt admitted in texts she’d tipped off the press about Coleen’s 2019 car crash in Washington.

Coleen turned detective in October 2019 and accused Rebekah of sharing stories from her personal Instagram account.

In the infamous post, Coleen said she posted a string of false stories via her Instagram account with restricted access to see if they appeared in the media, which they did.

She then said the fake stories had only been viewed by one person, and ended dramatically: “It’s . . . Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

On the fourth day of the trial today, Coleen revealed that she never expected her Wagatha Christie post to go viral and condemned the trolling of her WAG rival.

The trial continues.
