The Duchess of Sussex’s first book, The Bench, has been publicly released

The 34-page children’s book is Meghan Markle’s first

Meghan Markle’s new book shows her holding Lilibet as Prince Harry is seen feeding chickens with little Archie.

Inside Meghan’s 34-page book The Bench, the illustrations give a fresh glimpse into the Sussexes’ “authentic” life at their LA home – featuring their newborn daughter.

The California-based couple welcomed Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor into the world last Friday, June 4 – as they announced the birth of their daughter in a post on their website, Archewell.

Little Lili seems to make an appearance in the illustration – as she is cradled in Meghan‘s arms while in a vegetable patch.

With his recognisable ginger hair and beard, Harry appears alongside two-year-old Archie who sprinkles food for the animals while looking lovingly at his dad.

Emotions are also written about in the royal’s book

What is The Bench about?

The Bench is about the bond between dads and their sons from a mother’s perspective.

It features a cute illustration of Prince Harry, 36, and Archie, two, holding hands.

A bearded ginger-haired man, cradling a smiling baby on a bench under a tree, alongside text which reads: “This is your bench, where life will begin, for you and our son, our baby, our kin.”

On another page, they are feeding chickens, alongside the text: “Where you’ll never be ‘lone”, as a woman – presumably Meghan – is pottering around in a garden with one of two dogs.

Another drawing shows a father and his son in pink ballet tutus practising their stretches.

The duchess’s new book appears to make a veiled reference to the Royal Megxit rift – showing a Prince Harry lookalike saying “when life feels in shambles, you’ll help find order”.

Illustrations give a fresh glimpse into the Sussexes’ “authentic” life at their LA home.

The book shows a Harry lookalike playing with a little boy, and fixing a toy dinosaur along with the words “when life feels in shambles, you’ll help him find order”.

The choice of words seems to make reference to the fallout the couple experienced after they stepped down as senior royals.

Prince Harry and Meghan both made serious allegations against senior members of the Firm in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The Duchess’ pen name is given as ‘Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex’

Meghan Markle has dedicated her new book to the “man and boy who make my heart go pump-pump” in a sweet note for her husband Prince Harry and son Archie.

The mum was “inspired” to write the book after originally creating a poem for Harry’s first Father’s Day.

The 39-year-old is clearly showing her love for the two men in her life, as it shows Harry and Archie appearing to feature in a cute illustration.

The picture shows a ginger-haired dad with a beard walking hand-in-hand with a child around Archie’s age.

Meghan’s touching dedication, reproduced from a hand-written note, reads: “For the man and the boy who make my heart go pump-pump.”

It’s been published by Penguin Random House

A picture of the book shows a watercolour by award-winning artist Christian Robinson of a bench under a tree surrounded by birds.

The mum-to-be’s pen name is given as: “Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex”.

Meghan said: “The Bench started as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born. That poem became this story.

“Christian layered in beautiful and ethereal watercolour illustrations that capture the warmth, joy and comfort of the relationship between fathers and sons from all walks of life.

“This representation was particularly important to me and Christian and I worked closely to depict this special bond through an inclusive lens.

“My hope is that The Bench resonates with every family, no matter the make up, as much as it does with me.”
