Piers Morgan is suffering from ‘stress’ and got ‘fixated’ on Meghan Markle, claims Trisha Goddard

TRISHA Goddard has claimed Piers Morgan is suffering from “stress” and got “fixated” on Meghan Markle.

Outspoken Piers – who locked horns with Trisha in a row over racism this week – quit Good Morning Britain tonight.

Trisha Goddard has commented on Piers Morgan quitting GMB

It’s after he received 41,000 complaints over allegedly making dismissive comments about Meghan’s claims she was “suicidal” and suffered issues with her mental health while a Royal.

Reacting to the bombshell news that he’s left ITV, Trisha – who appeared on his Life Stories show last week – suggested 55-year-old Piers is in “pain”.

“I’m not going to gloat about Piers deciding to go,” she told Sky News.

“I don’t know how he feels I’m not even going to put myself in his head.”I wonder if Piers isn’t going through a tough time or has been.

Piers Morgan has left the breakfast show after his comments about Meghan Markle

“I know he is prone to banging on about something but I always worry when someone gets so fixated on something.

“I’m not talking mental illness. I’m talking about stress. You don’t know what’s going on at home for anybody.

“I might be completely far off the mark.

“I’m not going to gloat about something as stressful for someone as losing a job.

“However you want to level their behaviour you reap the consequences of what you do.

“But that is not to ignore that the person may be in some kind of pain to have to make that decision.”

Mental health charity Mind has been highly critical of Piers after he said of Meghan’s suicidal thoughts: “I don’t believe a word she says.”

And after the Duchess of Sussex sensationally claimed a “family” member raised concerns about their unborn son Archie’s skin colour, Piers was also criticised by Trisha for asking if it was “automatically racist”.

Trisha suggested Piers was ‘in pain’

Trisha replied: “Why is everybody else such an expert about racism against black people?

“I’m sorry, Piers – you don’t get to call out what is and isn’t racism against black people. I’ll leave you to call out all the other stuff you want, but leave the racism stuff to us, eh?”

On today’s GMB Piers took a moment to clarify his views on mental health after the backlash.

He said: “On mental illness and suicide, these are clearly very serious things which should be taken extremely seriously, and if someone is feeling that way they should get the treatment and the help they need every time.

Meghan Markle said she was ‘suicidal’

“And if they belong to an institution like the royal family, they should absolutely be given it. It’s not for me to question whether she felt suicidal, I wasn’t in her mind and that’s for her to say.

“My real concern was a disbelief, frankly, and I’m prepared to be proven wrong on this and if I am it’s a scandal, she went to a senior member of the royal household, told them she was suicidal and was told she could not have any help because it would be a bad look for the family.

“If that is true, that person should be fired, if they’re still there, and the royal family have serious questions to answer about how they handled it.”
