Piers Morgan shared a throwback photo with the late Princess Diana

Piers, 56, typed: “Princess Diana would have been 60 today.

“She was an extraordinarily complex person – incredibly charismatic, much smarter than people gave her credit, radiantly beautiful, contrary, stubborn, unforgiving to those who let her down, ferociously loyal to those who supported her, sensitive, very funny, mischievous and had a massive generous heart.

“She became the biggest star in the world and revelled in her celebrity as much as she professed to hate it, but I think all her demons were driven by one thing: she just wanted to be loved.”

Piers said in April that Diana would be “horrified” about Harry and William’s falling out.

He did not believe Meghan and Harry’s claims in her bombshell interview with Oprah

He slammed Prince Harry, calling him a “brat” after the royal made a number of accusations against his family in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Piers ranted: “What’s happened to that guy? He’s turned into this whiny brat.

“In his mid-thirties, complaining that his dad isn’t still financing everything that he does. Complaining that he was cut off by daddy and his millions.

“Actually that wasn’t true either – It turns out Prince Charles had carried on financing him.

“And remember Harry inherited millions when his mother died.”

It comes as William and Harry put aside their differences today to unveil a long-awaited statue.

The memorial is a figure of the princess surrounded by three children and depicts Diana in the later years of her life.
