Piers Morgan slams Alex Beresford as an IDIOT as he reignites feud with Good Morning Britain’s stand-in weatherman

PIERS Morgan has branded Good Morning Britain’s stand-in weatherman Alex Beresford an IDIOT after their on-air bust up.

The TalkTV host today reignited their famous feud a year after clashing over Meghan Markle.

Piers Morgan promoted his new show TalkTV on ITV’s Lorraine this morning

Alex was noticeably absent from ITV today as Piers made his return to appear on Lorraine.

And 57-year-old Piers took the opportunity to make a dig about his former colleague as he set the record straight about storming out the GMB studio.

Refusing to name him, Piers said: “I wasn’t too sure how I’d respond if I stayed there listening to that idiot giving me his two pennies’ worth.”

Piers has previously spoken about his dramatic fallout with the weather presenter, which prompted him to walk off set.

The pair had a spectacular falling out on air over Piers’ remarks about Meghan Markle after her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

As the GMB host walked out, Alex was heard saying: “This is pathetic. Absolutely diabolical behaviour.”

Piers reenacted the dramatic moment he walked off on-air as he abruptly ended his interview with Lorraine Kelly – but it was all in good fun.

Moments before he’d even suggested Lorraine was auditioning to be his new TV wife as she asked about his new show, Piers Morgan: Uncensored.

Speaking to the Mail, he said: “I thought it got too personal. Alex is the stand-in weather guy. He is not even the full-time guy.

“He is a guy I have helped a lot in his career, given him help and advice. And I just thought, I am not going to take this very personal take-down from him, from one of my own team.”

Piers later claimed the weather presenter was the only one not to wish him well after his departure.

He said: “I’ve had nice messages from all the other GMB presenters, apart from Alex Beresford.”
