PRINCE Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have been spotted driving in Windsor as the royal faces losing his security.
The Duke of York, 61, and his ex-wife were seen driving from Royal Lodge today amid a tense few weeks for Andrew with Virginia Giuffre’s sex assault case looming over him.
The Duke of York – who has now lost his royal and military titles – is fighting a sex abuse case filed by Virginia Roberts Giuffre after a New York judge ruled it would go ahead.
She alleges she was forced to have sex with Andrew three times when she was 17 – claims the 61-year-old has always strongly denied.
Andrew will now have to face his trial as an “ordinary citizen.”
And in the wake of the sex assault lawsuit, Prince Andrew could lose his 24-hour armed security and bodyguard, as he’s “not a working royal.”
Andrew was set to lose all three protection officers in June 2020 following a Home Office cost-cutting review – but clung onto them after the Queen intervened.
His minders are each thought to cost £100,000 a year in wages, flights, perks and hotels.
Her Majesty’s third child has been barred from using ‘His Royal Highness’ in any official capacity, and his military titles were revoked in the sensational decision.
Prince William was reportedly a key figure in the judgement to remove Andrew’s titles – and helped his grandmother realise his position was “grave”.
This comes after The Celeb Report revealed that the Duke of York slept with teddies and stuffed toys during his marriage.
Andrew covered the bed he shared with Sarah Ferguson at Buckingham Palace with bears.
The couple lived together in private apartments after their wedding in 1986.
Sarah, 62, and Andrew had two daughters together, princesses Beatrice and Eugenie but later split up.
The Prince issued strict demands on his cuddly collectables at bedtime as a single man following their divorce in 1996.
Sarah later moved into Andrew’s 31-room Royal Lodge mansion in Windsor Great Park.
And we also revealed that the Queen had to order childish Andrew to back down in a bizarre squabble with Charles — over a royal loo.

The ‘petulant’ Duke of York, then 39, refused to remove his toiletries from a bathroom intended for his older brother.
He relented only after an intervention from his mother at Sandringham, a former maid has revealed, with royal staff left astonished at the row.
Former Buckingham Palace maid Janette McGowan lifted the lid on Andrew’s childish tantrum at Christmas 1999 — when he was 39.
She said household staff were alerted to an “ongoing situation” after the Duke of York had bagsied the wrong bathroom.
He then refused to move his toiletries when told that it had been reserved for his older brother and future king Charles, then 51.
Janette, who had travelled to the Sandringham estate in Norfolk with the Royal Family, told The Celeb Report: “We were told not to move anything and not to touch anything in that bathroom because there was an ‘ongoing situation’.”
But she told how it was eventually sorted out by the Queen having words with Andrew while Charles waited patiently for a resolution.
