PRINCE Andrew “never touches alcohol” and rarely danced despite his accuser Virginia Roberts’s claims, sources insist.
In her BBC Panorama interview, Roberts claimed she met Andrew at London club Tramp, where he “sweated profusely”, before sleeping with him in 2001.
The Prince has always vehemently denied he has had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Ms Roberts.
Earlier today, he broke cover after his “alibi” for the night he was alleged to have had sex with Ms Roberts was blown apart.
And the layout of Ghislaine Maxwell’s London house including her “too small for sex” bathroom, where Prince Andrew is accused of foreplay with Virginia Roberts, has been revealed.
Maxwell had previously said her bath was “too small” for sex, after Prince Andrew‘s accuser claimed they were in the tub together.
BOOZE MYSTERY
The prince has previously claimed he had a medical condition which meant he couldn’t sweat after being shot at during the Falklands conflict.
Ms Roberts also claimed Andrew’s “guards waited outside while we all went to hit the dancefloor” at Tramp.
In a manuscript of her memoir, Ms Roberts wrote: “Andrew went to the bar to grab us all drinks.
“He came back with sparkling water for Jeffrey [Epstein] and a cocktail for the rest of us, already knowing that Jeffrey never drank alcohol.
“We downed our glasses.”
She later told NBC TV: “Prince Andrew got me alcohol, it was in the VIP section, I’m pretty sure it was vodka.”
But three former equerries – officers from Andrew’s royal household – have claimed the duke never drank.
One said: “The portrayed party animal, you know, two o’clock in the morning and anything about the drinking stuff, it’s not him at all.
“He never touches alcohol.”
Another equerry said: “In my 30 odd years I’ve never seen him take a single drink.
“He doesn’t even drink a loyal toast from what I can remember.
“Any lapses of judgement are certainly not alcohol-fuelled.”
And a third insisted: “I find it quite funny when he is reported as having downed cocktails.
“He doesn’t even drink Coca-Cola or anything like that. It’s just plain, straightforward spring water.”
An acquaintance of the duke added: “The idea of Andrew queuing at a bar to buy a round of drinks is ludicrous.”
Meanwhile, Giuseppe ‘Guido’ Guida, a maitre d’ at Tramp, said he found it “hard” to imagine the Duke had danced with Ms Roberts, then aged 17.
He added: “I only recall the Duke dancing with the Duchess.”
Friends of Andrew have also cast doubt on claims he was seen dancing with “sex slave” Roberts at Tramp, pointing out he went to a party at the same venue three days later.
A second witness came forward to back up claims the Duke of York danced with Ms Roberts on the night he is alleged to have had sex with the 17-year-old.
The first witness approached Lisa Bloom, a lawyer representing some of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s victims, after watching the Duke’s car crash interview on Newsnight.
Sources close to the scandal-hit royal pointed out he was snapped at Tramp on March 13, 2001, 72 hours after it is alleged he went there with Ms Roberts.
The first witness approached Lisa Bloom, a lawyer representing some of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s victims, after watching the Duke’s car crash interview on Newsnight.
Ms Bloom, who flew to London from Los Angeles to interview the witness, a British woman, said a second witness came forward after she appeared on ITV’s This Morning.
She told the Mail on Sunday: “The first woman, a Londoner, contacted me after she saw Prince Andrew’s interview.
“She was very disappointed that he denied knowing Virginia and denied being at the [Tramp] nightclub. That’s what spurred her to come forward.”
She said the second woman was a friend of the first and had backed up version of events. She said she was preparing to take them both to the US to speak to the FBI.
However sources close to the scandal-hit royal pointed out he was snapped at Tramp on March 13, 2001, 72 hours after it is alleged he went there with Ms Roberts.
On that night he had attended a 40th birthday bash for Guy Sangster, the son of the racing tycoon Robert Sangster.
A source told the Daily Telegraph: “At that time, the Duke went to Tramp a lot. He was at a birthday party the same week for one of the Sangsters.”
They said it was difficult for them to be certain the woman he was with was Ms Roberts, rather than a female pal, especially as he frequented Tramp a “lot” at the time.
TRAMP CLUB CLAIMS
In his Newsnight interview Andrew claimed he had taken Princess Beatrice to a Pizza Express in Woking on the night he is accused of sleeping with Ms Roberts.
Lisa Bloom, who represents six of Epstein’s alleged victims, said it was “outrageous” that the Queen’s second son had not cooperated with police, despite publicly promising to do so last November.
The duke was criticised in the wake of the Newsnight fiasco for showing a lack of empathy towards the paedophile’s victims.
He was also slammed for showing a lack of remorse over his friendship with disgraced financier Epstein, who took his own life while in prison last year.
