PRINCE Charles personally called Harry to tell him that Camilla will become Queen in a rare conversation following their rift, it is understood.
The Prince of Wales reportedly spoke to both his sons personally prior to the 95-year-old Monarch’s announcement on Saturday.
The Queen said it is her “sincere wish” that the Duchess of Cornwall will be known as Queen Consort in an address marking her Accession Day.
The Duke of Cambridge was consulted prior to the announcement, with a source revealing: “William was fine with it.”
And insiders have claimed Harry also had a conversation with his dad prior to the Queen’s statement, the Daily Mail reports.
The conversation comes after fears of a rift between the Duke of Sussex and his father after Harry quit the Royal Family with Meghan Markle.
The Duke was said to have “barely spoken” with his father last year, as their relations plummeted to “an all time low” after Harry claimed in an explosive interview with Oprah that his dad had cut him off.
Months later, he said his family had shown “total neglect” for his mental health.
Harry was also claimed to have triggered a “tsunami of fear” in Buckingham Palace when he revealed he would be releasing an autobiography.
But it’s now claimed the men have been on a “journey of rediscovery” and are mending their fences, with Charles inviting Harry and Meghan to stay with him when they’re next in the UK.
The Duke of Sussex is understood to have been enjoying video calls with his dad over the past few weeks.
It comes as:
- Harry and Meghan have yet to publicly congratulate the Queen on the Jubilee
- Piers Morgan says Camilla deserves to be Queen – and the Sussexes could learn something from her
- Royal fans spot a romantic picture of Kate and William in an official Jubilee photo
- Her Majesty was on sparkling form as she cut a celebratory cake
- And she took a break to say hello to her dorgi as she read cards from children
And Harry is expected to return to the UK for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations – although Meghan Archie and Lilibet may not accompany him.
Harry and Meghan have yet to publicly congratulate the Queen as she celebrates her Platinum Jubilee – instead choosing to remain silent in their £11million mansion in exclusive Montecito.

Royal sources have said it is the Queen’s wish for Camilla to be known as Queen Consort as recognition for her hard work and the happiness she has brought her son.
In a statement to mark her accession, the Queen told the nation: “I remain eternally grateful for, and humbled by, the loyalty and affection that you continue to give me.
“And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me.
“And it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service.”
Movingly, she signed the address to Brits: “Your servant, Elizabeth R.”
The honour is a major U-turn given that Camilla took the lesser title Princess Consort when she married Charles 17 years ago.
At the time royal officials believed there was too much public animosity towards Camilla — married to Andrew Parker Bowles from 1973–1995 — following the death of Diana.
Charles and Camilla said they were “touched and honoured” by the gesture, while the Prince of Wales paid tribute to his “darling wife” and said he was “deeply conscious of the honour”.
