PRINCESS Anne fans are urging Prince Charles to not exclude the hardworking royal from duties when he becomes king.
Charles is said to champion a slimmed-down monarchy, although it hasn’t been confirmed what this could involve.

Following the recent death of his dad Prince Philip, who passed away on April 9 at the age of 99, Charles is expected to take on many of the 95-year-old Queen’s duties.
Some reports have suggested a slimmed down monarchy would consist essentially of the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla, plus the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children.
This could mean that although the Queen’s other two working royal children, Princess Anne and Prince Edward, would keep their titles, it may impact various duties.
Princess Anne may be 70, but she has long been one of the hardest working royals.

Prince William did 104 engagements in 103 days last year and Kate Middleton did 79 engagements in 77 days
The Princess Royal clocked up 148 official engagements last year and spent 145 days carrying out public duties, latest figures show.
Second was Prince Charles, 72, with 146 engagements over 141 working days.
The Queen was third with 136 engagements over 130 days, meanwhile, Prince William did 104 engagements in 103 days and Kate Middleton did 79 engagements in 77 days.
The figures were taken from the official record of royal engagements — some via video due to Covid.
Since March 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have stepped down as senior royals and relocated with Archie, one, to California.
One social media said of a slimmed-down monarchy: “Fair enough chop H&M out but keep the Royals who work hard in The Royal Family & for our Country. Eg: Princess Anne.”
Another wrote: “We do have some worth keeping like Princess Anne & Sophie & Edward.”
A third said: “There are a few hard-working Royals like Princess Anne who should stay imo. Makes sense for Harry & Meghan to be officially out for good as you say they chose to go.”

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliam said: “Charles has long wanted to ‘slim down’ the institution.
“In 2019 the royals performed over 3,000 engagements, ranging from opening buildings to attending the Rugby World Cup final in Japan.
“That year 15 royals undertook duties from the Queen, including lesser known figures such as Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester. An assessment of the true value of these minor royal engagements is now urgently needed.
“And then there are the patronages, the Crown’s links with hundreds of charities, military associations, professional bodies and public service organisations.
“Of these there are many — more than 3,000 count an association with a royal. Prince Philip held around 750 patronages when he died, so what should happen to them?
“It is inevitable that some patronages and engagements will go. You are looking at a practical scaling down already.”
It’s understood William and Charles chose to speak to the Duke of Sussex together after Philip’s funeral over concerns the chat could be “misconstrued”.
Harry did spend time with his father and brother following Philip’s funeral service. However, it’s claimed little progress was made, and relations remain icy.
