Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s sweet reaction to Queen pulling marmalade sandwich from handbag

PRINCE George and Princess Charlotte were treated to a late night on Saturday as they joined their parents Kate Middleton and Prince William at the Party at the Palace.

And the two Cambridge children were delighted when they watched their great-granny The Queen star alongside Paddington Bear in a short film in honour of her Platinum Jubilee.

Meanwhile Charlotte was left astounded by what was in her gan-gan’s bag

As the beloved bear showed Her Majesty a sandwich he had hidden underneath his hat, The Queen prised open her bag and quipped: “I keep mine in here, for later.”

And her great-grandchildren were left in stitches, grinning with delight as their gan-gan pulled out her own marmalade sandwich.

The delighted faces were captured on camera with the photo shared on Twitter, where royal fans were quick to gush over the siblings.

One wrote: “By the look on Charlotte’s face she’s gonna be checking that bag next time

“Guess who is going to be looking in Gan-Gan’s purse the next time they meet.

A third added: “It’s so wonderful that the children are old enough to be present and enjoy their great grandmother’s celebration.”

Her Majesty, 96, surprised viewers with the warm and hilarious cream tea at Buckingham Palace in honour of her 70 years of service.

Tens of thousands of people watched outside the Royal household on big screens while millions tuned in live across the UK and worldwide.

British favourite Paddington told the Queen that he hoped she was “having a lovely Jubilee” before Her Majesty offered him some tea.

And Paddington was delighted to learn that The Queen shares his love of marmalade sandwiches.

Commenting on her record-breaking reign, Paddington said: “Happy Jubilee Ma’am. And thank you. For everything.”

Queen Elizabeth modestly replied: “That’s very kind.”

The heart-warming sequence ended with both The Queen and Paddington using a spoon to tap out the beat of Queen’s classic hit We Will Rock You.

It kickstarted the Queen’s Platinum Party at the Palace last night.

Brits turned out in their droves to join in the celebrations.

Famous performers included the likes of Sir Elton John, Rod Stewart, Craig David, Diana Ross, George Ezra and Alicia Keys.

Party at the Palace also saw Prince Charles and Prince William make speeches to pay tribute to the Queen.

However, the monarch herself was not in attendance.
