PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle will still be invited to the King’s coronation despite unleashing scathing attacks on the royal family in their Netflix documentary, it is reported.
Charles’ historic ceremony will take place on May 6, and it is understood the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have a place at the service if they wish to attend.
Meghan and Harry will be invited to King Charles’ coronation, it is understood
The monarch will be crowned on May 6
Guest lists for the religious affair in Westminster Abbey have yet to be drawn up, but a source told The Daily Telegraph: “All members of the family will be welcome.”
Buckingham Palace declined to comment. But a source said of the King: “He loves both his sons.”
The Sussexes are understood to have not yet received an invitation.
Both Buckingham and Kensington Palace have remained silent over Harry’s allegations that his brother screamed and shouted at him during the Sandringham summit.
Harry also claimed in his controversial six-part series that Kensington Palace “lied to protect my brother” when it issued a statement denying a story William had bullied him out of the royal family.
He also accused Charles of lying at the tense Megxit crisis meeting with the Queen in January 2020.
Charles is said to be hurt by Harry and Meghan’s criticism of the royal family, but has not given up hope of building bridges, the Daily Express newspaper reported.
It added that the King does not want to strip the Sussexes of their titles.
The monarch spent Friday carrying on with his public duties.
He danced with Holocaust survivors including Anne Frank’s stepsister Eva Schloss while visiting a Jewish community centre in north London ahead of Chanukah celebrations.
On Thursday, when the final installment of the bombshell Netflix series aired, William, Charles, the Queen Consort, Princess Charlotte, Prince George and a host of other royals put on a united front by joining the Princess of Wales at her Christmas carol concert in London.
The reported coronation invite for the Sussexes comes 83 per cent of Sun readers wanting Harry and Meghan barred from the event.
Both Charles and Camilla crowned in front of hundreds of guests during the service in the abbey.
The Palace has said the ceremony will be “rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry” but also “reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future”.
But May 6 is also the birthday of Harry and Meghan’s son Archie – Charles’s grandson – who will be turning four, posing questions over whether they would be able to attend.
It comes as Charles and Camilla are ready to have one of the biggest royal festive gatherings in years — while Harry and Meghan are frozen out.
The couple have invited large numbers of those dubbed “The Loyal Family” to Sandringham for their first Christmas Day since the death of the Queen.
Camilla will have her son Tom Parker Bowles, 47, and daughter Laura Lopes, 44, at the table for a royal Christmas dinner for the first time.
Disgraced Prince Andrew, 62, and his ex-wife and former royal outcast Sarah Ferguson, 63, have also been given the nod for the Norfolk gathering.
Other guests will include Prince William and Kate, both 40, and their three children, Edward and Sophie and family, Princesses Beatrice, 34, and Eugenie, 32, plus their husbands and children.
I’m a Celebrity star Mike Tindall, 44, is also expected, along with wife Zara, 41, and their three children.
Senior aides have said as many members of the family as possible will walk to church together on Christmas Day in a show of unity after a difficult year.
But Prince Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, left, will be thousands of miles away in the States following their fresh attacks on William and Charles in this week’s Netflix docuseries.
