Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s posh biscuits flogged for £3.99 at TK Maxx after going on sale for £16 a tin at Harrods

POSH biscuits marking a trip by Prince Harry and Meghan to Royal Ascot are being flogged in bargain stores.

The shortbread treats were originally available for £16 a tin at London’s Harrods and Selfridges.

Harry and Meghan’s shortbread treats have been downgraded from the shelves of Harrods to bargain store TK Maxx

They are now just £3.99 while they originally sold for £16 at the London luxury store

But they are now just £3.99 in budget chain TK Maxx.

And those snapping up the bargain 250g tins need to scoff them quickly as they are out of date in February.

Tins of teabags marking their 2018 wedding are also available at a half-price £4.

The shortbreads were produced by Scottish firm Walker’s.

But a TK Maxx shopper in Halifax, West Yorks, said: “The public’s changing opinion can never be more sharply highlighted than Harry and Meghan’s Harrods’ shortbread being flogged in TK Maxx.

“What a travesty.”
