Prince Harry declares he doesn’t need the Queen’s permission to write his £15million Megxit memoir

PRINCE Harry has declared he doesn’t need the Queen’s permission to write an explosive tell-all memoir.

The Duke of Sussex sensationally revealed he is penning a book that will examine the “highs and lows” of his life as royal.

Harry says he didn’t need the Queen’s permission to write his memoir

But he only told his family just moments before the news went public – with Palace aides also unaware.

His spokesperson confirmed he told his family – including the Queen – about the book only “very recently”.

They also said he would not be expected to obtain permission for the £14.7million project from the Queen.

It is not clear whether Her Majesty will get to read the finished product before it is published at the same time as her Platinum Jubilee next year.

The book’s publisher insists it is an “honest” and “intimate” autobiography detailing Harry’s life as a royal, his relationship with Meghan, Megxit and raising their children, Lilibet and Archie.

But the announcement has sparked fears of more revelations after his Oprah interview where Meghan accused the Royal Family of racism.

One royal expert says Harry risks “looking like a traitor” and Charles is “top of his list to smash”.

Harry has reportedly been working on the book for about a year – with a manuscript originally due to be handed in to publishers next month.

It was pushed back until October, but the first draft is “almost completely written”, according to Page Six.

In a statement from his £11million mansion in Montecito, California, Harry said: “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.

“I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story – the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned – I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.

“I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a first-hand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”
