Prince Harry met Eugenie’s new baby at Frogmore Cottage despite her being ‘hurt’ by his recent actions

PRINCE Harry has now returned to California after Prince Philip’s Windsor funeral – but he did get to see Princess Eugenie and her new baby before he left.

The Duke of Sussex, 36, who is expecting his second child this summer, was able to spend some quality time with his cousin – despite claims she has felt “hurt” at his recent actions.

Prince Harry was able to spend time with Princess Eugenie and her newborn son during his UK stay for Prince Philip’s funeral, it has been reported

According to Bazaar: “During his time in England, the prince was based at his Frogmore Cottage home in Windsor, where he was able to see a number of family members, including Princess Eugenie and her newborn son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, after a five-day isolation period per current COVID-19 government guidelines.”

It was the first time Prince Harry was reunited with his family, after his bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank’s baby boy August was born at the Portland Hospital in central London at 8.55am on February 9.

The choice of Philip as a middle name pays tribute to Eugenie’s grandfather Prince Philip, who was in hospital at the time, and later passed away on April 9.

Relations between Harry and his family are said to be tense, after claiming to Oprah he felt “trapped” as a royal.

Royal correspondent Camilla Tominey alleged that Eugenie and Beatrice have felt hurt at the actions of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in the past.

She claims the Sussexes took a swipe at the sisters on their personal website, Sussexroyal.com, last year, when they noted there was a precedent for “other titled members of the Royal Family to seek employment outside of the institution”.

Both York sisters are employed, with Beatrice working for a tech start-up while Eugenie is a director at an art gallery, however, neither have lost use of the HRH status, unlike Harry and Meghan.

Camilla claimed: “The thinly-veiled criticism of the cousins has shocked royal watchers — not least because Harry had previously been very close to the York sisters.”

Eugenie has long been close with her first cousin and is said to have played a key role in Harry meeting Meghan.

Meghan confirmed during her bombshell interview with Oprah that she and Eugenie had known each other before she met Harry.

Since then, Eugenie is said to have been a close confidante to Harry and brother William, the Evening Standard reports.

The royal has been living with her husband Jack Brooksbank at the Sussexes’ former property Frogmore Cottage on the Queen’s Windsor estate since giving birth to her first son, August.

The home was gifted to Eugenie and her husband for their growing family, and under the condition the Sussexes would bunk in with them on the odd visit to London.

But the arrangement is not necessarily just a practical one.

Eugenie is believed to be the only member of the Royal Family to have maintained a special relationship with the Sussexes since they moved to LA.
