Prince Harry’s heartbreak as his godmother Lady Celia Vestey dies ‘suddenly’ at the age of 71

PRINCE Harry’s godmother has died at the age of 71.

Lady Celia Vestey died “suddenly but peacefully” on Saturday, her family confirmed.

Lady Vestey was one of six godparents chosen by Prince Charles and Princess Diana

Lady Celia attended Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018.

A notice of her death was posted in the Daily Telegraph, saying: “Celia Elizabeth SRN BA. Died suddenly, but peacefully, on Saturday 28th November, aged 71 years.

“Adored wife of Sam. Much loved mother of William, Arthur and Mary and loving Granny of Ella, Frankie, Sam and Cosima.

“Private family funeral. Memorial service later.

“Family flowers only please, but donations gratefully received in Celia’s memory to Ebony Horse Club.”

Lady Vestey was one of Harry’s six godparents chosen by Prince Charles and Princess Diana for his christening in 1984.

Her appointment reportedly caused a family row, as Princess Anne wasn’t picked to be godmother.

Prince Harry was christened in St George’s Chapel in Windsor – where he later got married.

She was one of the Queen’s inner circle with her husband Lord Samuel Vesty.

He served as Master of the horse to the Royal Household from 1999 to 2018.
