Prince Harry’s relationship with the Palace ‘hanging by a thread’ after Queen ‘gobsmacked’ by his Oprah revelations

PRINCE Harry’s relationship with the Palace is “hanging by a thread” – after the Queen was left “gobsmacked” by his latest revelations, a source has claimed.

The monarch was reportedly told Harry’s new documentary, The Me You Can’t See, was going to cover soldiers’ mental health.

Harry’s relationships with his family are ‘hanging by a thread’ after his latest documentary, it’s claimed

As a result, she gave her blessing for his involvement, it’s claimed.

However, in the Apple TV show – which aired on Friday – the Duke of Sussex instead launched a series of “personal attacks” on his family.

The show left his father and grandmother “absolutely gobsmacked” – and his relationship with the royals may now be over, the source claimed.

It comes as:

  • The Queen ‘gave Prince Harry her blessing for Oprah TV series after misleading pitch about soldiers’ mental health’
  • An insider has claimed the Royal Family watch ‘with their hands over their eyes’ when Meghan and Harry speak
  • Harry exposed a ‘disconnect’ with Meghan Markle’s Oprah claims after opening up on TV doc, a presenter claims
  • Meghan reportedly introduced her husband to “ancestral healing”, which he claimed will help “break the cycle of genetic pain”
  • Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell said Harry is “blinded by Meghan Markle and Hollywood”

“Those around the Queen and Prince Charles are absolutely gobsmacked by what has happened,” a source close to Buckingham Palace told the Daily Mail.

“It is a question of trust, and honestly any of that is hanging by a thread at the moment.

“No one within the Palace circles has anything but sympathy for Harry’s trauma and troubled life, but there is upset and discomfort at him sharing it on an international television show.

“Certainly the intimate detail of his hardships paint a very negative picture of his family and upbringing. Many people have a different view.”

The Queen is understood to have been given a misleading pitch about the contents of the show.

It’s claimed she signed off on a programme that would consider the struggles faced by the armed forces.

The Duke’s family have been left ‘gobsmacked’ by The Me You Can’t See

Harry used the programme to criticise his father – and claimed Meghan had been ‘smeared’ by The Firm

However, in the programme, Harry accused the royals of showing “total neglect” for his mental health woes.

And he claimed Charles caused him to “suffer” and didn’t “make it right” for him after his mother’s death in 1997.

Senior royals would not have agreed to his involvement in the series if they knew it would be a “personal attack on his father and the institution”, it’s claimed

In the programme, Harry told Oprah: “My father used to say to me when I was younger, he used to say to both William and I, ‘Well, it was like that for me so it’s going to be like that for you.’

“That doesn’t make sense. Just because you suffered, that doesn’t mean your kids have to suffer. Actually quite the opposite.

“If you suffered, do everything you can to make sure that whatever negative experiences you had, you can make it right for your kids.”

It comes as Harry prepares to “go deeper” with his “truth bombs” in yet another Oprah show, due to air on Friday.

The Duke of Sussex and Oprah will join participants and experts to host a “town hall” discussion for programme The Me You Can’t See: A Path Forward.

Yet another episode will air on Friday as the royals prepare for more upset

The new show may only strain his family relationship’s further.

The source told the publication Harry’s “attack on his father and childhood” has already had a huge impact.

“It has sent seismic tremors out everywhere,” they said.

“Harry has the freedom to speak up for his truth, sure. But there has always been an understanding of accountability.”

Harry’s appearance left the Queen “deeply upset” – although Charles has no intention of “cutting off his son”, despite his hurt, it’s been claimed.

Meanwhile, Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell says she would have been disappointed by Harry’s ever-growing distance from his loved ones.

In an interview with Closer magazine, Mr Burell said: “Diana would be heartbroken it’s come to this.

“Not only would she be devastated that Harry is cut off from his family, but she’d disapprove of him tearing down the royals.

“She’d want him to stop airing his dirty laundry, and to live a quiet, private life, focused on his children.”
