Prince Harry's Emotional Solo Vigil

Prince Harry was visibly emotional as he spent time alone at the Queen's final resting place at Windsor Castle. The Duke of Sussex, 38, emerged from St George's Chapel looking choked up after his private vigil.

A Royal Divide

While Prince Harry remembered his grandmother, his brother William and father Charles were miles away. William and Kate attended a private service at St Davids Cathedral in Pembrokeshire, while Charles and Camilla held their own private prayer and reflection at Crathie Kirk.

An Intimate Moment at the Chapel

Prince Harry had access to the locked chapel where he spent time reflecting and praying by the ledger marking the Queen's burial place. Visitors who were present observed that Harry appeared to have been crying. He shared a special bond with his grandmother and they were known to have shared many laughs before he moved to America.

William and Kate's Remembrance Service

At the private service attended by William and Kate, the couple observed a 30-second moment of silence. Kate laid white flowers next to a photo of the Queen and spoke affectionately about her memories of Her Majesty.

Kings and Queens Apart

Prince Charles and Camilla held their private reflection at Balmoral, approximately 500 miles away from Windsor. The couple later spoke to well-wishers, while the Queen's youngest sons, Andrew and Edward, attended a service at St George's Chapel in the evening.

Harry's Solo Act

It was revealed last month that Prince Harry had not been invited to join the other members of the royal family for the anniversary. Sources say he chose to mark the occasion alone. The last time Harry was seen at St George's Chapel was for the Queen's committal service last September.

A Quick Exit

After his vigil, Prince Harry flew to Germany and checked into a luxurious hotel. He is set to open the Invictus Games and is expected to be joined by Meghan on Monday.

A Day of Remembrance

To mark the anniversary, William and Kate shared photos of the Queen on social media and wrote a heartfelt message. The Royal Family's official media account also paid tribute to the late Queen with a smiling photo and a loving message. Other members of the royal family, including Princess Eugenie and the Queen's senior dresser Angela Kelly, also shared touching tributes.
