Kate and William are preparing to step up in the Royal Family after the death of Prince Philip

William is working with father Charles on plans for the future of the monarchy.

In a tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh after his death at the age of 99, William vowed to continue on at the Queen’s side in the difficult days to come.

“Catherine and I will continue to do what he would have wanted and will continue to support the Queen in the years ahead,” he said.

“I will miss my Grandpa, but I know he would want us to get on with the job.”

Meanwhile, royal biographer Angela Levin has claimed that he and Charles could “ditch” Meghan and Harry as a result of their plans to “cut the monarchy down” and save cash.

It’s understood just Charles, Camilla, William, Kate, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte could remain as senior royals.

And Kate has been hailed a “peacemaker” after she appeared to get William and Harry chatting again after Prince Philip’s funeral.

The brothers were seen talking together after leaving the sombre service, during which Harry sat alone.

Royal biographer Phil Dampier told the Mail Online that the Duchess shares Her Majesty’s “tolerance and pragmatism” and is “maturing rapidly”.

“She has picked up many of the Queen’s qualities of tolerance and pragmatism, not overreacting to situations but trying to decide what is best in the long run,” he said.

“Like the Queen she doesn’t hold grudges or seek revenge.”
