Prince William and Kate Middleton to ‘move to Windsor estate as Charles plans to offer them “Big House”’

PRINCE William and Kate Middleton are preparing their family move to a house on the Queen’s Windsor estate this summer, it’s claimed.

Until now, the recently refurbished Adelaide Cottage was understood to be the family’s first choice when they move from London to Berkshire.

The Cambridge family are expected to move to Windsor estate this summer

The family could move into ‘the big house’ at a later date as Charles does not plan to spend as much time as the Queen does at Windsor Castle when he is King

But in time, The Celeb Reportday Times reports the Cambridge’s could move into “the big house,” as Prince Charles does not plan to spend as much time at Windsor Castle as the Queen when he is King.

The move will see Kate and Wills leave Kensington Palace, which has been their main home since 2017.

However, it’s understood they will keep the residence as their London base, retaining it for their press team.

George, eight, and Charlotte, seven, are expected to leave their prep school, Thomas’s Battersea, at the end of this term and enrol at a school near Windsor.

It will bring them closer to their maternal grandparents, the Middletons, who live a 45 minute drive away in Bucklebury.

The move will also give them a new dynamic at home, with the family said to be looking forward to the freedom Windsor estate can provide.

A friend told The Times: “The reality is they are quite confined in what they can do in London.

“The kids can’t go into the park and kick a football with friends.

“Their plan is to be there for the next ten to 15 years and then move to Anmer, which is so special to them.”

The Cambridges currently split their time between Anmer Hall in the grounds at Sandringham, Norfolk, and Kensington Palace, in West London.

But a friend told The Times Anmer Hall will likely become the family’s permanent home after the kids are out of “the school years”.

Until then, they will continue to use the holiday base “regularly”.
