Prince William kicks off South Africa trip with touch rugby game

Meeting 'The Beast'

Prince William, 42, started his South Africa trip by playing touch rugby with kids and reconnecting with former rugby star Tendai 'The Beast' Mtawarira. The prince laughed and joked with the 22-stone prop during the game.

Supporting a charity

The visit also aimed to support The Atlas Foundation charity, which brings rugby to children living in poverty. William's four-day trip will culminate in the Earthshot Prize, where he will award £50 million to projects tackling environmental issues.

Inspiring future leaders

During the trip, Prince William addressed 120 young leaders from Africa and Asia at the Earthshot Prize Climate Leaders Youth Programme. He encouraged them by saying, "you are going to change the world."
