Prince William was known as His Naughtiness when he was little and would stick his tongue out at people

PRINCE William gained the nickname of His Naughtiness when he was little and would stick his tongue out at people, claims a royal author.

In Robert Lacey’s Battle of Brothers: William and Harry – The Inside Story of a Family in Tumult, the young heir was a “boisterous” child.

Prince William would stick his tongue out at people, claims Robert Lacey

The royal author wrote of William: “With Charles proving to be an equally worshipping and indulgent parent, William became a law unto himself – loud and boisterous and earning the nickname ‘His Royal Naughtiness’ following his poor behaviour at his brother Harry’s christening in December 1984.

“The little prince had wriggled continuously and rolled his eyes with real insolence towards his father when he was not allowed to cuddle his baby brother.

“It was part of a pattern. William had developed the habit of sticking out his tongue at people as well as wielding his water pistol with gay abandon – squirting at least one guard at Highgrove who remained standing obediently at attention until he was soaked through.”

Robert claims William also went through a phase of pinching “female backsides”, starting with his mum Princess Diana, and later some “maids at Kensington Palace and Highgrove.”

The royal expert said the Queen was “not amused” by her grandson’s cheeky behaviour, particularly when Prince Harry grew old enough to join in.

Her Majesty was said to be particularly horrified at one of William’s favourite lines, which was said to be “When I am king, I’m going to make a new rule that …”

One of his naughty moments included when he met musician Bob Geldof when he visited Kensington Palace and called the philanthropist “dirty” with “scruffy hair”.

The royal author wrote: “The dishevelled rock star and human rights activist Bob Geldof did not mince his words when confronted by the young prince’s rudeness at Kensington Palace in the summer of 1985.”

Robert said that Bob had come to chat with Charles about the forth-coming Live Aid concert at Wembley, and a three-year-old William was annoyed he didn’t have his father’s full attention.

Robert claimed that William asked Charles why he had to chat to Bob, and Charles replied that they had work to do.

The royal biographer then claims William said of Bob “he’s all dirty”, to which Bob replied “shut up, you horrible little boy.”

William wasn’t put off by the rude remark, and continued: “He’s got scruffy hair and wet shoes.”

Robert wrote that Geldof was keen for the final word and said that William’s hair was also messy, but William said that it wasn’t due to Diana brushing it.

William and Bob have likely met since that mortifying childhood encounter, as the Irish philanthropist is said to be still friendly with Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles.

Princess Charlotte also appeared to be a fan of sticking out her tongue, when she did it at the King’s Cup Sailing Regatta, Cowes, Isle of Wight in 2019

We shared how William revealed son George went LITTER PICKING and was ‘annoyed’ by how much rubbish he found.

And Prince William was almost given another name which Prince Charles had heart set on & it now belongs to close relative.
