I’M A Celebrity contestants have been treated to a very royal campmate this year, and Mike Tindall’s made light work of impressing famous faces.
But one person who apparently won’t agree with his latest venture is Mike’s mother-in-law, Princess Anne.
Katie Nicholl claims Anne will not be cheering Mike on during the show
Mike became Princess Anne’s son-in-law in 2011
The 44-year-old ex-England rugby player is the first member of the Royal Family to sign up for I’m A Celeb and according to royal expert Katie Nicholl, there’s no way Anne will be rooting for him.
Speaking to True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat, Katie explained: “Knowing Princess Anne… The idea that she’ll be sitting, cheering Mike on is absolutely unthinkable.”
Instead of watching her son-in-law eat bugs, Katie claims Anne will steer clear and not think too highly of his actions.
“I think she’ll be thinking, ‘What on earth is he doing?’” she said. “And that’s probably the thoughts of most of the senior Royals.”
The gutsy dad-of-three, who’s married to Anne’s daughter Zara, disgusted viewers after eating kangaroo bottom in camp, and revealed his very musical hidden talent while rapping to Will Smith’s Boom! Shake The Room.
Mike – a ‘natural alpha’ who’s been given the nickname Magic Mike – cheerily got through the Critter Cruise Challenge while neck-deep in water, and ended up with a spider on his head as he fought for more stars to earn his campmates’ meals.

What’s more, viewers listened to Mike’s swear word-littered rant about Matt Hancock after the MP flew into the jungle – and Katie wonders what the late Queen would have thought of his behaviour.
“One wonders, if the Queen was still alive, and knowing how close Zara was to her grandmother, whether she might have actually had a conversation [about her husband appearing] saying, ‘Granny, just so you know’,” she said. “I think that’s much more likely than not.”
It’s highly unlikely that Mike and Zara consulted the new Prince and Princess of Wales, either, as Katie added: “But the idea that they’d have checked with Wills and Kate? No!”
Speaking to the press before he entered the Aussie jungle, Mike claimed that he did in fact have discussions with the Royal Family before signing up to the show.

He revealed: “We did, well, I had a few conversations, but they’re between me and them.”
It seems Mike has his wife’s full blessing, who will be at home with children Mia, Lena and Lucas as he faces more and more gruesome trials.
