As the royals walk past the Duchess of Cambridge, 41, appears to give Wills, 40, a loving tap on his bum.
Fans were quick to comment on the affectionate gesture.
One wrote on Instagram: “I love how happy they are, were and probably will be even more. Really a good thing nowadays! The world needs more smiles (genuine people with smiles I meant!)”
Another joked: “They should get matching haircuts, aww so cute.”
Others simply added heart-shaped emojis.
Kate looked stunning in a chic white one-shouldered Alexander McQueen piece that she donned for the awards in 2019.
The garment had undergone some minor alterations, with a floral design on the shoulder swapped out for a train draped across it and reaching down to the Princess’ waist.
Similarly, on the dress’ last outing it was paired with a pair of diamond earrings that belonged to Princess Diana, while this time Kate opted for £18 Zara jewellery.
The toga-style ensemble featured a fitted bodice, cinched waist and graceful floor-length skirt
Her wedding dress was notably designed by the outlet’s creative director Sarah Burton.
The royal mum-of-three sported a pink lipstick and a dark smokey eye, with her hair swept glamorously behind her shoulders.
Kate twinned the stunning dress with black opera gloves, while her husband was dressed to the nines in a double-breasted, black velvet dinner suit with matching bow-tie.
William’s outfit was also re-worn from a previous dapper event.
It was the first time the royal couple attended the ceremony, which recognises the UK cinema industry, in three years.
William has been president of Bafta since 2010 and was first accompanied by Kate in 2017.
However, they have not attended the awards since 2020 due to the pandemic.
