MINISTERS will consider tearing up privacy laws that protect the rich, Justice Secretary Dominic Raab has said.
They will look into overhauling the Human Rights Act to enshrine freedom of speech after the Duchess of Sussex’s latest privacy case win.
Mr Raab, who is also Deputy PM, said laws should be made by Parliament and not “innovated in the courtroom”.
He added: “We want to overhaul the Human Rights Act.
“I think we do in this country have a tradition, which emphasises and prioritises free speech and open debate.
“I think that’s something which is pro freedom that we’ll look at.
His comments follow Meghan’s Court of Appeal victory last week over a newspaper which published a letter to her father Thomas, 77.
