THE Queen was accompanied by her beloved dorgi pup on a drive through Sandringham today.
Her Majesty was spotted in the front seat of a Range Rover with her 10-year-old pooch Candy in the back as she prepares to mark 70 years on the throne.
The monarch, 95, was being driven away from Wood Farm on the Norfolk estate, where she has been staying for almost two weeks.
She is gearing up to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years since becoming Queen at the age of 25.
Her trip the country abode usually lasts until February 6 – the anniversary of her father’s death.
But this year the day coincides with the momentous occasion of becoming the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.
Preparations are well under way for the historic festivities, which include a birthday parade, a party at the Palace, and an artistic pageant.
Her dogs are likely to play some small part in the events, having been a major part of her life.
Candy is believed to be one of more than 30 pups the Queen has kept throughout her reign.
She currently has one dorgi – a cross between a dachshund and a corgi – and two pure corgis.
One of them, Muick, was given to her during her late husband Prince Philip’s illness.
The other, Fergus, sadly died just over a month after the death of the Duke of Edinburgh aged 99.
But to help with her heartache, her granddaughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are believed to have surprised her with another corgi for her birthday last June.
Candy is the last living descendant of corgi Susan who was given to the Queen on her 18th birthday in 1944.
Her most famous pooch Monty appeared in her 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony clip with James Bond star Daniel Craig.
