Boris Johnson extended EU deal talks until Sunday

It is set to be filmed in secret later this week at Windsor Castle amid tight Covid restrictions.

A source said: “Normally she films it in early December, certainly by the middle of the month, but this time it’s later than usual. There’s talk it could happen on Wednesday or Thursday.

“The country could be a very different place by then with us possibly leaving the EU without a deal.”

The Queen will also talk about the pandemic

Sources say the Queen will speak about how the Covid pandemic has kept families apart but there will also be optimism for next year. Her son Prince Charles and grandson William both caught the virus.

Almost eight million saw her festive address last year, right, but that rocketed to 24 million watching her lockdown speech in April.

Buckingham Palace did not want to comment. But an insider said of the speech: “It’s really emotional and personal and written by the Queen herself. They are expecting record viewing figures. A lot more people will be at home tuning in.”
