A ROYAL expert has blasted Prince Harry for hurling “hand grenades” at his family and claims the Queen needs “protecting” from him.
The Duke of Sussex ruffled feathers by stating he wants to ensure she has the “right people” around her – despite living across the pond.
His concern for his grandmother’s well-being was slammed by critics after it appeared to be another sly dig against the Firm.
Now former Vanity Fair editor and royal author Tina Brown has hit out at the 37-year-old for adding another snarky comment to his long list of public remarks.
It seems the Duke is not afraid of adding fuel to the fire, by booking a string of interviews and discussing his relationships with the Royals.
Ms Brown claimed that “a lot of people” among the Royal fold think it is Harry that she needs protecting from rather than anyone else.

He seems used to courting drama with his fiery interviews after his infamous chat with Oprah Winfrey in the wake of Megxit.
In his latest bombshell new interview with NBC News, Harry gushed about his “special relationship” with his grandmother and how she can confide in him.
But he still managed to spurn his relatives in the sit-down for the US chat show while at the Invictus Games.
It has left royal expert Ms Brown with a bad taste in her mouth, seeing her slam Harry for launching “yet another fusillade”.
She believes a reconciliation could be on the cards when the Queen dies – but his constant taunts are fracturing his relationships further.
The author told the Daily Mail: “Right now it’s not going to happen.
“And it’s not going to happen largely because Harry keeps lobbing these fresh hand grenades at the family, just when they’re beginning to think ‘well, can we re-establish some trust with the House of Sussex’.
“There’s yet another fusillade from an American talk show and everybody in the family thinks ‘well, what was that about?’
“The most recent comments by Harry about, you know, he came to make sure the Queen was protected – a lot of people I think in the family thought ‘well actually she needs protecting from you, Harry’.
“So that isn’t helpful.”
But Ms Brown admits that Harry and Meghan stepping back from royal life in January 2020 was “definitely a blow for the monarchy.”
She continued: “I think when the Queen does die, I do believe there’ll be a kind of desire for Harry to serve his country.
“I think he’s going to want to rethink it, probably.
“And frankly I don’t think the entertainment efforts are going that brilliantly, you know, sitting in Montecito.”
It comes as he continues to muddle through the backlash after snubbing Prince Philip’s memorial due to his security row with the UK government.
And the Duke’s upcoming biography is set to put further strain on his relationships with the Firm.
He is rumoured to be gunning for his brother William, Charles and Camilla in the tell-all book.
It has also been suggested that the Duke could name the royal who made the remark about Archie’s skin colour.

Meghan and Harry claimed that a senior royal expressed concerns about Archie’s appearance during their Oprah interview.
The claims made by the couple during the sit-down have remained a point of contention between the Sussexes and the Royals despite it airing over a year ago.
