Queen reveals she’s a fan of BBC Radio’s Woman’s Hour as she sends 75th birthday message

THE Queen has revealed herself as a fan of BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour after she sent a message to celebrate the show’s 75th birthday.

In her message, Her Majesty praised the show as “a friend, guide and advocate to women everywhere”.

She said the programme has “played a significant part in the evolving role of women” worldwide.

The note was read out by Newsnight’s Emma Barnett on her first day of hosting the show.

Woman’s Hour, which fights for women’s issues, has been on the air since 1946.

It was previously presented by Jane Garvey, who said goodbye to listeners after 13 years.

Her co-host, Dame Jenni Murray, had hosted the show for over three decades when she also left.
