BOOKIES are set to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by donating the profits from one of the races at Royal Ascot this week to charity.
All of the money made from tomorrow’s Brittania Stakes at the famous racecourse will be gifted to a number of top charities.
All profits made from win and each-way bets, once levy and duties are deducted, will be contributed to good causes.
And with up to 33 runners set to go to post in what is a huge field, plenty of money is expected to be raised for the nominated charities.
The Betting and Gaming Council have confirmed the money will be split between ABF – The Soldiers’ Charity, Sue Ryder, Ascot Racecourse Supports Community Fund, The Ivors Academy Trust and Cotswold Riding for the Disabled.
Even if no profits are made, bookies have agreed to make a donation to the charities.
