A ROYAL protection expert urged the Met to probe the Prince Andrew sex assault claims.
Dai Davies blasted the force for refusing to investigate.
He said: “I’d like to know who made this decision and why.
“Did it go to the Met Commissioner, or even the Home Secretary?”
He urged a rethink after a US judge ruled a civil case can go ahead.
Dai, ex-head of Royal Protection for the Queen, added: “An investigation will give him the chance to clear his name.”
The force announced it was not taking action last October after its latest review prompted by her legal action against the Duke in the US.
Dai was a Scotland Yard Chief Superintendent.
Andrew was dramatically dumped from the Royal Family and stripped of his titles this week.
