The future King and Queen checked into The Cove at the Atlantis Bahamas Resort last week for the last two nights of their royal tour of the region.

The royals stayed in the penthouse suite of The Cove at the Atlantis Bahamas Resort

They stayed in the hotel’s penthouse – a 4,380 square foot suite with a price tag of £19,000 a night.

Guests enter the three-bedroom suite and come into a round foyer with an enormous domed ceiling and glass chandelier.

The suite, which can sleep up to eight people, has floor-to-ceiling windows with wrap-around ocean views, an executive office, a ten-seat dining area, walk-in closets and a dedicated butler.

The bathrooms are clad in marble and there is a free standing bathtub next to a window, looking out over the white sand beaches and the ocean.

According to the Atlantis website, only “the most selective” guests can bag the luxury suite.

The website says: “Reserved for only the most selective and luxury-seeking guests, The Cove’s awe-inspiring penthouse suites occupy a single-story enclave overlooking the Caribbean waters beyond.”

Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly enjoyed their stay in the Bahamas and plan to come back.

According to Hello! magazine, the Duchess of Cambridge told fellow guests: “We were tempted by the beaches. Amazing scenery. Next time we have to come back with the children.”

The hotel features 11 swimming pools including multi-level adult-only pools

Although the royals were too busy to lounge around in the resort, other guests can enjoy 11 swimming pools, including multi-level adult-only pools, 21 restaurants, 20 private cabanas, 19 bars and lounges and a water park.

On their recent royal tour – the first of the Platinum Jubilee – the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also visited Belize and Jamaica.

They completed an action-packed eight days that saw them swim with sharks, climb aboard a Land Rover which once carried the Queen and Prince Philip, and hop into a Cool Runnings-style bobsleigh.
