THE Queen has marked the first Father’s Day since Prince Philip’s death with a touching photo of him and Prince Charles as a boy.
The tribute was shared on Her Majesty’s official Royal Family Instagram account this morning and also features the Queen and her dad King George VI.

The photograph was taken back in Balmoral 1951, and sees a three-year-old Charles sitting on a statue of a goat while his parents and grandfather watch on.
The photo was captioned: “To all dads everywhere, we wish you a very special Father’s Day.
“To mark #FathersDay we are sharing this photograph of The Queen with her father, King George VI, and Prince Philip watching a young Prince Charles sitting on a statue at Balmoral in 1951.”
Royal fans were left touched by the post, sharing their well wishes with the family as they celebrate the occasion for the first time without the Duke of Edinburgh.
One wrote: “Thinking of you all on your first heavenly Father’s Day x”
“Thinking of the Queen and Dukes children today on their first Fathers Day without their Dad,” added another.
While a third wrote: “What a beautiful photo.”
The Duke of Edinburgh passed away “peacefully” at Windsor Castle on April 9.
He is believed to have spent his last few days reading and writing letters and sleeping in the sun weeks before his 100th birthday.
