The Sun’s Jabs brilliant Army volunteers in line for Queen’s Platinum Jubilee award

THE Sun’s brilliant Jabs Army volunteers are in line to be honoured as part of an awards scheme to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Duchess of Cornwall wants the Platinum Champions Awards to “recognise the truly special people that are making a real difference to our communities with their generosity”.

As president of the Royal Voluntary Service charity, Camilla will select 70 winners in each of seven categories.

The 140,000 Jabs Army volunteers who aided the Covid vaccine rollout can be nominated in the Supporting the NHS and Social Care category.

Camilla added: “I hope many of you will share your stories of these local heroes and nominate them for a Platinum Champion Award.”

The 70 volunteers who are chosen in each of the seven categories will receive a Platinum Champions pin and a signed certificate from The Duchess of Cornwall.

And 10 outstanding volunteers from each category will be invited to celebrate at a special edition of The Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday, June 5.

Stars including Oti Mabuse, Phillip Schofield, Elaine Paige and Felicity Kendal are backing the awards and the BBC’s One Show will showcase some of the heroic volunteers.
