Over 1,500 soldiers and officers, as well as 250 Household Division horses will put on the display.

The colour will be trooped by the 1st Battalion, Irish Guards.

The traditional ceremony is expected to finish by 12.25pm.

What is the route for Trooping the Colour?

The route begins at Buckingham Palace.

From there, the parade will continue down the Mall to Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall, and back to the Palace.

It’s said that plans are in place either for the Queen to briefly inspect the troops, or for her to sit it out and only appear for flypast that follows.

This is set to feature 70 aircraft including the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Red Arrows and will start around 1pm.

It will be watched by Her Majesty, and Royal Family members from the balcony of the Palace, and will be visible to the public from the Mall.

How can I watch Trooping the Colour?

Tickets to watch from the stands on Horse Guards Parade are no longer available, but members of the public can still watch it in person.

You’ll be able to watch from The Mall (with a limited view) or the on the edge of St James’ Park, which overlooks Horse Guards.

However, this will be partially obscured by military personnel from 9am.

Public vantage points can be found on the Army website.

But if that all sounds like too much hassle, and you’d prefer to watch it with your feet up, good news, it’ll be on telly too.

The ceremony will also be broadcast live on the BBC1 and can be streamed on the BBC iPlayer.
