On Sunday it was revealed that Queen Elizabeth II tested positive for Covid.

Host Jeremy, 56, Marina, and radio presenter James Max began discussing if she should carry on with her royal duties.

Kicking off the discussion, Jeremy said: ” She’s a 95-year-old woman, you’ve got to worry about her…”

Marina replied: “Of course, and I wish her the best, I just don’t know why we are fascinated by this one person…”

The host was left gobsmacked by her comments and said: “She’s the Queen!

“She’s the most famous person in the world!”

But Marina replied: “She is so irrelevant to so many people…”

James simply replied: “That’s very rude.”

Marina’s comments caused outrage on Twitter.

One wrote: #JeremyVine How dare this woman on the panel insult our Queen! Our Queen is an amazing woman who has dedicated her life to us and this country. This panelist is making my blood boil!”

Another said: “The Queen loves to work unlike so many when there is half an inch of snow will phone in to say they cannot get to work! She is sensible enough Not so spread Covid..! Leave her alone.”

A third chimed in: “Just leave the Queen alone FFS…. She’s served the country for 70 years, letting her continue isn’t going to hurt anyone….. Don’t know where this show off disrespect has suddenly come from.”

Her Majesty, 95, is experiencing “mild cold-like symptoms” but expects to carry out “light duties” this week, according to Palace officials.

There had been fears for her health after she was in direct contact with Prince Charles two days before he tested positive for coronavirus during a routine lateral flow on February 10.

Officials say she will “continue to receive medical attention” from her team of royal physicians.

The shock diagnosis comes just a fortnight after Her Majesty celebrated her Platinum Jubilee and said she wishes for Camilla to become Queen Consort when Charles is made King.

A statement read: “Buckingham Palace confirm that The Queen has today tested positive for Covid.

“Her Majesty is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but expects to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week.

“She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines.”
