ENGLAND captain Leah Williamson has revealed what Prince William told her following the Lionesses Euro 2022 triumph.
Sarina Wiegman’s side beat Germany 2-1 after extra-time at Wembley on Sunday to end England‘s 56-year wait for a major trophy.

William was then on hand to present each of the squad with their medals and gave Williamson a big hug as she stepped up to meet him.
And the morning after their triumph, Williamson told the England YouTube channel what was said during her interaction with him.
She said: “I think I went to shake his hand and he said, ‘Leah, bring it in’ and I said, ‘Thank you sir’.
“He was like, ‘I’m very proud of you all’.”
Williamson also reacted to The Queen‘s heartfelt message to the England team following their historic victory.
The Lionesses captain said: “I’m a big fan of the Royal family so it means a lot.”
It was an incredible evening for skipper Williamson – who only took over the captaincy from Steph Houghton back in April.
And she was overcome with emotion during her post-match interview as she took the opportunity to send a powerful message to everyone around the country.

She told the BBC: “I just can’t stop crying. Something like this, we talk and we talk and we talk and we finally did it.
“It’s about doing it on the pitch and I’ll tell you what, the kids are alright.
“It is the proudest moment of my life. I am taking everything in, every piece of advice I had was to take every single second in, so I can relive it forever. I’ll be reliving that for a long time.
“The legacy of this tournament is the change in society. The legacy of this team is winners.
“I love every single one of you [the fans]. I’m so proud to be English. I’m trying hard not to swear.”
